POLICE TRUNCHEON from 1948

As I didn't need any shopping .. and the weather was dark and dismal - I decided to have a day indoors.  Turned out to be a very lazy day but I think I needed one. 

The Wide Wednesday theme today is " old ".  So I had to find something indoors that was old and wide.  It wasn't easy  - until I remembered this truncheon. It belonged to my late husband who got it when he joined the Metropolitan Police in 1948 as a 20 year old.  He originally served in the Soho area of London and later on in Orpington, Kent.  He left the police force in 1960.  Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting the challenge
