Job done...

Mark making his acceptance speech in the wee sma' hours of this morning after being elected as the Member of the Scottish Parliament to represent the Aberdeen Donside constituency...job done:-)

I checked out of my hotel this morning at 11am. The hotel I've been staying in on my trips to the granite city sits directly behind the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on North Anderson Drive.

I could not help but think as I drove past that building this morning that it was only seven weeks ago, almost to the hour and minute, that I had arrived in Aberdeen to pay my respects and celebrate the life of Brian Adam MSP.

So a day of mixed emotions, happy and pleased that our campaign was successful and we succeeded in getting Mark elected to continue in Brian's footsteps but mindful that it was always a campaign that we'd rather didn't have to happen.

Before leaving the city I went to the press photo call at the Brig O' Balgownie and then enjoyed a post campaign brunch with some of the campaign team at the Inversnecky cafe. After seven weeks I did make it to the beach:-)

A quick trip to the bunker to collect some things to take back to Edinburgh and then my final drive home of the campaign.

Back to the Barmy Army and Mr R and enjoyed a nice evening at the Scouts BBQ...although on four hours sleep I was nearly asleep round the campfire after one small wine;-)
