This is what you resort to when you're stuck inside, hobbling around the place, slightly incapacitated - playing around with wind-up toys, mirrors, cameras and flashguns at just before midnight... oh dear. I'm not going to call it an emergency blip, but it came good just in time, just 20 seconds before the day's midnight deadline...

Yes, the rain is still pouring and the river here is still roaring. I've heard reports that they may need to evacuate people in Tai Tapu as the Halswell River is about to top its banks. It will be interesting to see tomorrow how much the rain gauge tells us how much we've added on to the 320mm for the week so far...

Apparently sunshine is forecasted for tomorrow. Who knows, I might even venture outside for the first time in days? Would be cool to see just how underwater the lake margins are...
