An evening
With friends.
It's been a great trip to London so far. We have seen parts which we wouldn't otherwise get to see. Our kind hosts reside in Greenwich so we have spent a bit of time there.
Following lunch and a few refreshments we went off to see Leonard Cohen at the O2.
I don't know how Jill managed it but she managed to score us seats in the rafters next to the angels.
What a show it was - I've seen lots of great artists over the years and this was right up there with the best if them.
He is just fantastic and easy to see why at 79 he is playing to a massive souled out arena.
Full of charisma, wit, intellect and grain.
At one point Jill leaned over and whispered - wow, he means every word!
There were beautiful pieces of spoken word poetry - a thousand kisses deep, amazing stories where he referred to the crowd as friends and heartfelt lyric changes - ill wear the mask of an old man if you want me to - during I'm your man.
29 songs, two encores, and more than 3 hours later we left exhausted yet replenished.
It was an honour to see a dear old friend at work.
