Unease

The doorbell rang today and I was handed this parcel. I was not expecting anything to be delivered.

To see it covered in tape marked “Home Office” and “Border Force” for some reason made me unsettled.

There was a document pouch in which it became clear it was from French friends in Lille. Quite why it was covered in Border Force tape I am not sure. It is a while since we’ve had a parcel from abroad so this may now be standard practice,

In any event it was a toy present for our grandson and it is very much appreciated by us. We are sure he will enjoy it in due course.
