Gin O'Clock (Tuesday 9th January 2024)
This is my first blip of the year as I have somewhat been hibernating. Several of the roads out of Calne have been closed due to flooding, thanks to the recent bombogenesistic weather conditions so I haven't been tempted out, except on foot. Twelfth Night has also come and gone, so it is time to say "Get thee behind me, Santa".
This latest gin delivery was supposed to arrive on Saturday morning, the first day when there was no rain and a hint of blue in the sky, and I had hoped to get out later, but I was left waiting in vain for a delivery that finally showed up two days later, on Monday, ninety-five minutes before the Royal Mail's revised delivery time and date. The gin photo embargo was lifted today as all subscribers should have received their package by now, so I set it all up outside for today's blip.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Slowdive - Chained to a cloud (2023)
One of the highlights of last summer's Glastonbury was the revitalisation of this shoe-gazing band from up the road in Reading who formed in 1989, named after a song by Siouxsie and the Banshees, but disbanded after considerable success in 1995. They reformed in 2014 and released their first album in 22 years in 2017. They are clearly a band who do things at their own pace as their next album, Everything Is Alive, was recorded and released in 2023. I have been collecting their work and pre-ordered this one. I replayed it today to choose one to share here to represent them and this album, and ended up with Chained To A Cloud, predominently instrumental.
