Freezing Work!
The Islington Freezing Works sent their first load of frozen meat overseas in the 1880s, and shut down about 25 years ago. It stands abandoned at present, but makes for a fascinating photo shoot.
It was literally freezing work at the Freezing Works today, with sneaky draughts and pouring rain.. wow, it was so cold! Five keen photographers gathered at Scott Fowler's home early this morning, and were led through what steps we need to be aware of as we initially take up our cameras, to the intricacies of using Nik Software. In between we visited the abandoned Islington Freezing Works, where we captured many images, including being able to focus on a very photogenic model that Scott had arranged for us.
Scott Fowler is a well known New Zealand photographer and teacher, and has won many awards in his photographic career. You can check his work out at http://www.scoiwi.com/
My image is a 6 image HDR, processed with Nik's HDR, and then Silver Efex. It was processed in our session today, and I'm reasonably confident I could replicate it here at home :) Am looking forward to having a play tomorrow!
What a great day! I've come home feeling very energised :)
