This is an ex-POTUS
It ain't the best picture in the world but this is the real deal - former President Bill Clinton.
A huge honour to be invited as a guest to the Scottish Business Awards tonight, where President Clinton was the keynote speaker. He might have aged a little but he's still able to hold an audience in the palm of his hand, talking about his philanthropic ventures now, which are having a huge impact across the world.
One thing he said really struck me - he was recollecting his early life with Hillary Clinton, and said he always told her that while she was the most gifted person he had ever met, he would make a better politician - because he had been raised in the Deep South through a tradition of oral storytelling. Gave me chills to hear that - the power of stories and the power of those that tell them well.
An amazing opportunity to hear him speak first hand - an incredible experience. There was a brilliant Q&A session led by the young social entrepreneur who organised the event, with some awesome straight to the point questions, including one about Pres Clinton's views on Scottish independence - which I'm sure all the papers will pick up on tomorrow!
