Frozen Ground

It was another very cold but sunny morning (clouded over at lunchtime) so Mr P and I decided to walk to Eddleston after Mass. Mr P is now in training for his next Camino. We were rewarded with blue skies for most of the walk, even if it was icy and slippy underfoot in parts. We toyed with the idea of going for Sunday lunch to the Horseshoe (turned out that unbeknown to us the Gilchimps were inside) but opted to take the bus back instead. We had lunch and read the paper and then I set off with Carole’s daughter Sara to pick her up at the airport. Sadly we didn’t get very far as I hit a huge pothole at Howgate and burst a tyre (one of 5 affected cars…it was like a car hospital). I had to wait for the AA (brass monkeys). Meanwhile the police were called to deal with it all. Luckily my friend Graham, picked up Sara and then Carole from the airport.
Mr P had a hot bath and hot soup ready for me when I got home. Quite the mini drama.
