Fishy Business?

Whenever we drive south, we go past what is obviously a huge, abandoned structure, high over the Lake. Today, we decided to explore and see what we could see. Walked all over the various buildings, empty swimming pool, patios looking over the view (see extra), all grown over, smashed doors, tiles removed and stolen, we're guessing.

As we left, saw a sign prohibiting entry, and then, as we reached our car, on the other side of an old bridge, a figure watching us, and then a white pickup coming down the path we'd walked up by - by which time we were well on our way.

The sign gave the name of the project - and the fact that the EU had contributed 1.149.587,16€ to the project (how do they work out those 16 céntimos??), so we looked it up on the internet. Apparently, only ever 60% finished, and a, presumably failed, attempt at selling it by auction a few years ago.


Gratefuls:
- a small adventure
- making more mince pies and distributing them (still not used up all the mincemeat I made, but on the last jar)
- lovely chats with both daughters, and quick hellos with son and brother
