Trespassers Will Be Prosecuted

.....if they survive the hundred foot fall to the floor of the quarry below....


Today I had to collect a package from Much Wenlock, and I diverted to Wenlock Edge for a 5.5 km ramble with Hollie and Samsung. 

Wenlock Edge is, and I quote.."  a limestone escarpment near Much Wenlock, Shropshire, England and a site of special scientific interest because of its geology.[1] It is over 19 mi (31 km) long, running southwest to northeast between Craven Arms and Much Wenlock,[1] and is roughly 1,083 feet above sea level. The deciduous woodland which runs along it covers much of the steep slopes of the escarpment and in parts it is very well preserved..."   unquote (wikipedia)

On the northern side there is a steeply wooded slope populated by dense deciduous woodland, which is varied and interesting but sadly blocks the view out of the Stretton Hills. 

On the southern side is a quarry. A very large, very deep one. Which you will find quite quickly if you decide to trespass, or blunder around in the dark.

It was a misty day, but very enjoyable. We both got 'muddied' but it was great to be out and stretching the legs.

I hope to post better pictures later in the year when the weather is more hospitable.
