Sparrmannia Africana
A lovely morning ..... cold but wind free so we were spared the wind chill factor. We couldn't resist a final visit to Cambo on our way home.
This African Lime Tree, Sparrmannia Africana known as African Hemp grows in the greenhouse. It was in flower although many of the blooms were in an advanced state of withering. The wood is too soft for use as timber but the plant produces a reasonable fibre.
Coffee and a shared scone and then it was off home. We drove through some areas that were very frosty and the temperature dropped accordingly.
