Nostalgia ain't what it used to be

There is a new structure on Myrtle Square in Dun Laoghaire. 
As it is new, people are giving out stink. The council are being pilloried for wasting money. 
In the olden days, the wise old folks used to reminisce about the past through bitter-sweet songs of yesteryears glory. 
Nowadays keyboard warriors spill out torrents of bile on Facebook, on the You Know You're From Dun Laoghaire When page. Anything new is necessarily shite. 
That Facebook group has been going on for ages. Over a decade. There is even a cohort lamenting the good old days of the page. Those who so vehemently condemned it for being shite. When it was new... 

I am sorry to say that nostalgia, well, it ain't what it used to be.
