Conference is over
I like my pears a bit on the hard and woody side; once they get over ripe, soft and juicy I can still enjoy them, but not as much. I think this one might be a little too ripe for me though.
I have a Conference Pear tree in the garden; only very small, as it was only planted two years ago. Last year I think I got one pear, this year a few more, but I cropped them all and we enjoyed eating them. Then the leaves fell and left the tree ready for winter. Last week, I noticed this and another similar pear still on the tree; given the size of the tree I really can't understand how I didn't see them before, either as fruit for eating or in their present state!
