... that I left the village today. I wouldn't have if Mystère hadn't run out of the kind of cat biscuits he currently likes though, as I still don't feel that great.

The sky and light were quite dramatic in the late afternoon, so I stopped at the aerodrome on the way back for a blip. I have blipped this before (and I can see it's been repainted since then), but I'll repeat the information about it here. Go large to see the wind turbines on the horizon (not there when I last blipped it).

This is a beacon on the Aéropostale line from Toulouse to Casablanca. Launched in 1927, the flight took 13 hours and involved aviation pioneers such as Mermoz and Saint-Exupéry -- who wrote his first novel, Courrier Sud, based on his experiences. The instrumentation in these primitive planes was virtually non-existent, so the pilots relied on a trail of beacons to pick their way across France towards Africa. This is one of them.
