No solstice sunset

My hopes of taking the sunset on this longest day on the summer solstice have been thwarted. At 7 o'clock the beautiful "mares' tails" with an occasional "angel cloud" began to give way to denser cloud which quickly covered the sky as a front approached. The day's length here today is 17 hours 36 mins, compared with less then 6 hours on December 21. Now the days will get shorter but fortunately the warmer days of summer should be here for several weeks.
