Flower Friday. : : Gerberas

The house didn't have long to get that post Christmas decoration 'empty' look before Lindsay and the girls arrived. They brought minimal stuff considering the fact that babies are usuallyaccompanied by mounds of equipment, but the house definitely doesn't look empty now.

Grace has decided that our windowless closet is her 'favorite room in the house' and has been in there with Spike discussing everything from 'entertaining the queen' to trying to hire Spike as a security guard (with training!). In addition to having a good singing voice, she has also perfected the accent of the queen and also has quite a good southern accent (and a prodigious imagination).

Much time has been spent watching Sage trying to talk and also to walk, and commenting on the similarities between an almost toddler and a dog.

We all went to Trail House to meet with our usual group. Grace hit it off immediately with Bob and Sage really liked Toby. At Grace's request, they have decided to stay until Sunday so a load of laundry was done. John went to the store to stock up on provisions and LIndsay has helped him set up some extra functions (like air drop) on his phone. I haven't had a lot of success in getting his watch to vibrate or ring when I send a text or even in getting him to wear it! I knew it would probably be a long shot....

Today is Matt's birthday. He is never home on his birthday because his company Rawlings/Easton, always has some sort of sporting goods sales show. This year he's in Dallas...'yeehaw' as he says. I can almost hear his tongue grinding in his cheek as he writes that. Although he travels all the time, being in the baseball business doesn't exactly take him to garden spots. The manufacturing side does take him several interesting places in Asia. Happy BIrthday, Matt! I won't mention which one as it gives away too much about both of us!

It will be interesting to see how things go with the rat extermination crew arriving between 8 and 9 tomorrow morning. There isn't much time to worry about the possibility of a widening war in the Middle East....
