The Early Hedgehog

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

You may find this hard to believe but it is hard to tell the hedgehogs apart. Other than size, they pretty much look the same. 

People ask how many hedgehogs visit and we tend to say "over four" because we've seen four in the garden at one time. How many more than four, we have no idea. They come and go all evening. 

But we are pretty sure this is the same hedgehog who comes inside. This is because he really does display no fear toward us, unlike his prickly comrades. Also he seems comfortable walking around in daylight - arriving before sunset in the evening and coming to visit well after dawn in the morning.

Here he was this morning, getting a drink and a spot of breakfast. I put out some leftover cat food for him and he did not scuttle away, as other hedgehogs do. 

It makes taking pictures easier and he's quite happy to pose for you. As you can see.
