Dan is up early, barely light, to go surfing. He brings breakfast back with him. One of his friends runs a small coffee shop. It’s really good - none of the high street chain stuff. He also makes a pretty good omelette and toast made with bread from Elvis the baker.
We’re up by the time Dan gets back. We breakfast with Varnika while Dan goes off to his office. She has a commission to work on, but she takes time to play first.
She treats us to a couple of tunes on the piano and then shows Anniemay the white note trick and while Varnika plays chords, Anniemay plays a couple of tunes.
We’re coming to the end of our trip, just a couple of days left now. We start to think about packing. And home. And all the grown-up responsibilities that go with it. Anniemay has an app on her phone which controls the heating, so begins the process of gradually warming the house up.
Varnika needs to get on with her work, so I grab a quick photo before she disappears into her studio.
