Ramblings from Zambia....

The Elephant cafe

This morning we headed to Victoria falls - it is at its lowest at this time of year which means you can actually take a photo without getting soaked!

Then late afternoon we went to the Elephant cafe for dinner.  We had a jet boat up the Zambezi over the rapids  which was great fun.  Then we met the elephants and fed them (this is a herd which was orphaned and unfortunately since childhood have interacted with people so cannot be adopted into a wild herd).  I am not in favour of such, but was intrigued.  It was amazing to stand next to a massive bull elephant and feed him.  Then we had a first class dinner and the keeper explained all about the elephants.  The dinner is made from 100% local produce and was really delicious!  A very extravagant thing to do  but it was worth it.  I still don't agree with humans interacting with wild animals though!!
