Vihta

Tomorrow is Midsommer's Eve and all finnish people go to Sauna. In the Sauna we use Vihta (made of birch leaves) to drive out evil from us.... Just joking :-). But we use vihta in sauna to clean our skin and it brings good smell to the sauna. It is an old tradition. After that we drink ice cold or pocket warm Koskenkorva and we go to dancing on the stage. In the midnight we watch Juhannuskokko (midsummer bonfire). After that we drink more Koskenkorva and look Midnight sun and then some of us drown in the lake.... :-)
