The accidental finding

Hogmanay helper

Indie has been crazy for the last few days, howling incessantly and climbing the walls, literally. It's been very distressing for all of us. It was only when S came round to help me tidy and asked if she was hungry (she hadn't been eating properly) that I made a connection. Ever since I sprinkled catnip on her cardboard scratcher, she has been tubo charged and unhappy. 'It's a drug's I said to S, and put the scratcher in the coal bunker. Indie went off for a six-hoyr sleep. She has reverted to type now, only climbing on top of doors briefly just before be bedtime.

Anyway, there wasn't much tidying to do when S arrived, so we hung out for a bit, and he took away some of the stuff I'd put in the latest charity shop bag. We drove him home because it was raining.

Being lazy, we didn't even go up to the cemetery to watch Stroud's hogmanay/new year's eve celebration fireworks. The pub fireworks went off very early, maybe because it was Sunday. We watched them from our doorstep. Indie briefly earned my wrath by upsetting s tray of jigsaw pieces, but then I realized that the jigsaw was basically many shades of brown, so that went in the charity bag, too.

We watched BBC Scotland/Alba, and eventually it was midnight! Wished and kissed, and 2024 came in. Many types of alcohol were consumed.

Indie is my black cat blip today not just because of the catnip rehab, but because it was on new Year's day 1978 that Gobbolino, the first black cat of many  came into my life. I'll post a link, actually blip won't let me, but the date is 4th August 2012, if you're interested.

Happy New Year, bliipers everywhere! We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet...
