[What's your favourite colour?]

It's difficult for me to find an answer to this question because I find that colours are at their most lovely when they are in combination with others. I have no problem liking bright pinbk on it's own, but it's only when it's presented with something like lime green or lemon yellow or navy blue, that i really see it. On the other hand, something like chocolate brown doesn't do a great deal for me until it's paired with, for example, duck-egg blue or coral pink and then it begins to acquire value and resonance.
Think of some fabulous colour combinations. Chartreuse green & cranberry red. Silver grey & mandarin orange. Brilliant white & cerise pink. Turquoise and lemon. Iris blue and marigold orange. Burnished gold and damson violet. Shocking pink and acid lime. If you take away one half of the sum, you are left with a lot less than half of what you started with.

The first time I read that quote I literally had shivers going down my spine!! Anyway, Asha and I had these oil pastels out to do a bit of drawing this morning - I definitely had more fun than she did!!!
