Shapwick Heath

It was nearly 2am before we bade a fond farewell to Jools Holland, Rod Stewart and the old year so it was late morning before Tess, Chris and I had a New Year’s Day stroll on the Shapwick Heath Nature Reserve.

The wildfowl seemed to be lying low and those that were about looked a little lethargic. We were treated to a fly past by a Marsh Harrier but it was too far away and quick for me to focus the camera on.

Chris treated us to fish finger sandwiches and coffee back at the Reserve cafe before we headed home to spend the rest of the day like the birds.
