Backblip: End of an era

Legendary flamenco Peña, Los Cernicalos, ( kestrels) is losing its home today after 45 years in the Barrio San Miguel, Jerez. The landlord told them to quit after being a venue for superstars of the Jerezano flamenco world. Also where I had my guitar lessons with  El Carbonero. Hopefully Los Cernicalos will find a new permanent home, but it is nonetheless a sad day  with the loss of an important part of Jerez’s flamenco and wider cultural heritage.
