Fireworks

I have sat and wondered all day what the rattle and silent snaps and bangs are. Is there someone at my door? Until hours later I realized that it was the new year and thus everyone should be so happy that shooting and banging is necessary. ;-)
But when I looked out, it all seemed very modest. My two nice neighbors were shooting a few fireworks behind their house, straight up, not very noisy, maybe just for fun for the grandkids.
