Squirrel Blip Friday ...

... vacation day 1.

Today was busy getting ready for our flight to California.  We have a late afternoon flight out of Newark so didn’t have to leave for the airport until around 2:00 pm.

But I’m not sure why I was in such a rush to get to the airport as our flight was delayed by about an hour.  The delay was due to our plane not being at the gate in time for us to board on time.  It was frustrating to say the least.  Especially knowing that the flight was already getting to San Diego in the late evening.  Thankfully the pilots were able to make up some time and we arrived in San Diego just before 9:00 Pacific time (midnight our time!).  And I was happy to see that a chipmunk was riding along with us all the way to California!  This is the view from my window seat on the plane. 

We collected our rental car without any further delays and drove to my mom’s house in San Marcos … arriving just past 11:00 pm.  And even though we were exhausted from a very long day we visited with her for a short time before we all headed to bed.

Our adventures start tomorrow as we head toward Indio (Palm Springs area) for a few days.
