Philadelphus.........
...........otherwise known as Mock Orange - and does it smell wonderful!! Actually, I'm very disappointed with it this year - it is usually covered in blossom but the chappie who comes to trim back my bushes came very late last year (his daughter was getting married and he had better things to do - so I don't blame him). So this year, I'm going to make sure it is cut back as soon as the flowers have faded. I can trim the sides myself but can't do the top bit - shall have to grow a little taller!! I do have another one which I can get to but it isn't flowering just yet.
Had a real go at the gravel path at the front of the cottage yesterday afternoon - when my neighbour sowed his little lawn last year, some of the seed must have blown onto the path and has now decided to grow!
Now the path down the side has to be done - it started raining yesterday just as I was about to begin - truthfully I wasn't too sorry, I had had just about enough!!
I planted my favourite Cosmos about 10 days ago - around half of them just have stalks left - bl...y slugs - pellets put down this morning as I have replacements to plant and I don't want to lose those as well.
Weather dull again this morning though not cold - about 56 deg F. It could brighten up - I hope!

Another weekend nearly upon us and, of course, today is the longest day of the year - it doesn't seem possible does it - the nights will gradually start to creep in earlier! Tempus fugit and all that!
May I also take this opportunity to apologise for the fact that I am SO behind with comments on what have been a lot of smashing pictures of late - have managed to keep up with replies to yours, I think. but if I have missed anyone - sorry!
