The last of the summer fruit

We managed to take a quick walk to visit our local wildlife area, in between the squalls which blew through all day. I found a few bunches of fruit remaining  on the little  Crab Apple tree. (Yes, they do resemble cherries, but they are definitely apples!). I was surprised the birds and squirrels hadn't taken them all, yet, but perhaps there is still plenty of other food available.
