Rainbow

It's been a cold, wet and miserable day today.

The sun came out for a while, but did little to lift spirits or temperatures.

The message came through early on that it was snowing in Christchurch and that many schools had been closed for the day.

We got a few flakes, but nothing that looked as if it would stick around.

Kids hung around by windows, willing it to snow and finding it hard to settle.

As I was leaving school this evening, I spotted a pretty, faint rainbow over the nursery school across the way.

It looked so cheery as if to remind us that we might have not got snow today, but we did have some funky weather in its place.

Thank God for small mercies, right?
