Sprint & Spirit

The View

When I take the stairs up to my office space on the 6th floor every morning, this is what I see. Today I made my first presentation regarding my first four weeks' progress. I've consolidated a bunch of reports to update our target customer list and overall customer database. Even though it's tedious at times, I like working with data because it feels like an escape from ordinary life. I'm a rare breed of person who likes this kind of stuff, but what I've learned from the last couple years is the importance of finding my niche.

In high school, I always wanted to have an important title, to be the center of attention. But sometimes, no matter how hard you try, no matter how good a person you are, you don't always get what you want, and you don't always fit in with the group. I've learned to play the background. Humility is hard. I'm trying to be more loving and more relational every day. And when I'm doing something I love, playing a melody, shooting a rainbow three, laying out for a disc, that's when I feel like magic.

Peace.
