Fallstreak Hole
The cause of a fallstreak hole has to do with liquid drops that are below freezing and ice crystals. This isn’t the best one I have ever captured but it is the first one that I have watched develop.
The photo at the top is my first spotting. The middle is the complete hole - or nearly complete. The bottom is complete and the beginning of the end. They were taken two minutes apart.
The last time I searched the tag #fallstreakhole on blipfoto there were only six, including my previous one (link above). Hard to believe. It doesn’t mean that there haven’t been more. Others may not have been tagged or identified.
The clouds in general were interesting this morning. An entire swath of the sky looked like it had been raked. That would have made a cool blip, too.
