Beauty is all around us.

The Feast Day of Saint Egwin.
I like this time of year. The Eve of New Year's Eve. The excitement of a new year yet to arrive, whatever the Good Lord sends us. Praying for peace in all the troubled areas and more kindness to all animals. Father Adriano at Holy Mass mentioned something spiritually helpful. It is called the Decalogue of Serenity by Saint Pope John 23rd. It is essentially some useful pointers as to how we can live each day well. Kindness is one point. www.ommi-is.org
I see this time as a time for gratitude and reflection for the blessings of the Year we have just experienced.
It was a momentous year for Paul and me in many ways. We moved house in July after 33years in our old terraced house. Paul is waiting for three scan results, due in January, he decided to stop smoking, we bought greenhouses and we adopted two cats. My niece S also had a second son, A. Nephew L and wife S had a baby boy, L. We are blessed with many nephews in our family.
The weather has been challenging with all the rain and wind. It has been much more difficult and devastating for others. Count the blessings is the essence of my personal philosophy and try to find the valuable life lesson in the joys, sorrows and wonders of life. Help the poor whenever we can, including homeless animals.
We have been out for shopping and I delivered some 2024 calendars to neighbourhood friends for the Comboni Missionaries. I went to Ray's on the High Street for wool, and found a couple of other useful things, a glass jar with a lemon squeezer and an Apple Pie fragrance candle.
We are watching The Terminal. Tom Hanks is a brilliant actor.
Later we will play some board games.
Tea will be salmon bagels and the remaining Christmas pudding. It was heavenly.
Have a lovely Saturday and thank you for visiting my site.
