Torres y murallas
Not much remains of the city walls and fortifications of Moorish Jerez from the twelfth century. But they stretched for four kilometres around the city and with walls 2 metres thick were a pretty formidable defence. This was at a time when Islamic arts and sciences were light years ahead of @nything in Christian Europe. My college took us on a tour to see them , including the shops and bars which used the original walls as part of their construction.walls
