A lull between Christmas and New Year’s Eve

I know this week between holidays is usually quiet. That is why I invited one friend to dinner on Tuesday, a couple for cocktails tonight, and a third for morning visit with hubby tomorrow. Well Tuesday’s date canceled because the drive back here from Nebraska was hampered by a blizzard, tonight’s couple canceled last minute because the wife came home from work feeling ill, and tomorrow is off because the husband is sick.
So I’m having cocktail snacks for supper tonight and watching a movie. Quiet weeks are nice, too.
