Albert surveying his pier…

Very interesting morning today.
The day started cloudy and looked like rain was on its way so I decided to get going before the rain. I didn’t really need much but definitely needed a blip so set off in search of something.
First I popped into the Coop and the assistant who I included in a blip back in April was tidying shelves. When I saw she was in my April blip I thought she wasn’t too pleased about it but she’s been really chatty ever since. Today she was muttering a bit about rude customers who were having a go at her because the boats had been cancelled so no food was coming in. The lack of fruit and veg was particularly annoying people. I suggested she could get out there and grow some! So we had a good giggle and I bought some hand wash.
Then I went down to M&S expecting their shelves to be empty but no! They had their normal sign outside asking people not to park because delivery expected at 4am (from the 3am boat). Well looks as if their delivery arrived because staff were busy stacking shelves. Interesting! Not only is it M&S food but does it come on an M&S boat that can ride the storm?
My final wish was to get my hair cut. My first choice is Noone, a Thai lady who fully understand thick stubborn hair and uses thinning scissors to tame it! But she doesn’t open until 9.30 or later so I decided to go for the other option of a lady who opens shop at 9 o’clock and just have the back clippered. So I headed off in that direction not long after 9 o’clock. As I started up the hill I heard someone shout a couple of times. It was Noone and she asked whether I was looking for her to get my hair cut. Yes; result! And she had a notice up saying her annual trip home to Thailand was 14 January to 7 February so todays chop will last until then.
