Home again, and a lot (a lot) later than I would've been, if the train had run smoothly.
Not the train, this time, but the signaling system along tracks. The train was late leaving the platform, but not late arriving, so no standing out in the cold for a long time, this time.
Next town over, train stopped longer than it should, because of the signaling system having trouble along the track the train should run on. So, the train was directed on another track, but this one only had one track, which meant several stops along the way. Then we stopped again and stood there... and got information regularly, even when there was nothing new to tell. There was fault in that signaling system too and the higher ups where debating weather the train should wait where we were standing, or turn back to the largest town we'd left. After, I think, 40 minutes, the train started moving in a slow pace. Stopping here and there for other trains. The signaling system had been fixed on the track. At one time, on staff member said in the speaker system, that we should report this and get a refund on our tickets. I'm doing that, for sure.
Finally we reached the main line and the train picked up speed. When the train arrived in my town, the train was 2 hours late... and, I was trying to not cough so much, ate so many soar throat honey flavoured drops (or what they're called) that I didn't feel hunger and tried to blow my nose discretely, because I sat with three others. The fewer was coming back when the train had an hour left, so I had to dress myself in my jacket to feel somewhat not shivery.
When I got of the train, I walked passed one of the staff that tried to take care of all of us, on a train that didn't have anything to eat or drink on it, and I thanked her for what they'd done for us. She lit up and we talked for a short time.
Mum's doing great, considering, and she's walking around without support indoors. She still gets help with shopping, because it's too slippery outside for her even want to walk outside. She's in good spirits and I do hope I didn't give her my cold. I tried to be cautious and washed my hands, but you never no. Mum wasn't worried, but... so, fingers crossed.
Oh, and no oven today, since we're being delade for I didn't know how long, and my cold. Oven's arriving tomorrow and I'm having a pizza (currently in the freezer) for dinner. :) But, my cousin - on mums side, and I had a laugh about the oven top (if that's the name for 'on oven activities') because this kind of 'oven top' (just renaming it that) is rather winy, apparently. It beeps when it's unhappy, and it can be unhappy for all sorts of things. My cousin wanted me to report how it goes, if I get a kind one or a 'I'm going to wine about everything' one. I'm a bit scared, actually. :D
The photo is from when I arrived this afternoon and the moon shone brightly over snow covered rooftops and roads.
