Nature's Wrath
Brisbane was just one of the areas of the east coast of Australia that was battered by violent and persistent storms throughout Christmas Day and Boxing Day. There are many thousands of homes without electricity as power lines were destroyed by falling trees and gale force winds. Some of them can't be reconnected for up to a week. This coincides with another spike in temperatures, with 37C predicted over the next few days. Sadly, nine people are known to have lost their lives already, with others not yet accounted for.
I'm thankful that I'm fine and have no damage at home and still have power.
I was out early for a walk alongside the river, to beat the heat, where I spotted this Red Arrow dragonfly - (Rhodothemis lieftincki).
