MATCHDAY

Newcastle United were playing at home today - a 12.30pm kick off against Nottingham Forest.  I checked the bus website to see what buses were running  and luckily the number 1 bus was in service today every 30  mins between the Metrocentre and Newcastle ( it usually carries on to Whitley Bay ). So I caught a bus at around 10.30am.  The roads weren't very busy and I got to town in good time to have a wander round...... and get myself a hot snack.  Can't beat a Greggs sausage roll on matchday.... there were long queues at every branch of Greggs I passed in town.

My collage also shows the crowds around St James Park and some of the flags inside the stadium.

It was a dry day today but quite chilly. And it was sunny - very bright sunshine - shining right in everyone's eyes in the East Stand.  We could all have done with wearing sunglasses.  Best thing we could do was shade our eyes with a hand and squint to try and see the action to the left of us.  The sun did finally sink behind the stand opposite and then it was better.

The game was not enjoyable from a Newcastle fans point of view. Newcastle just didn't play well.  However they were awarded a penalty on the23rd minute and Isak scored.  They were all set to go into the half time break one nil ahead but.... Notts Forest equalised in the first minute of added time.  That was a killer blow.

The second half went from bad to worse with Notts Forest scoring two more goals.  Final score Newcastle 1 Notts Forest 3.  To add insult to injury all 3 Forest goals were scored by Chris Wood who used to play for Newcastle.

Such a disappointing result.  Newcastle have recently had some defeats away from home but they have usually done well at St James Park.  So its rather worrying to see them lose a match at home.  However Im not panicking like some fans are.  All over Facebook there are fans saying " sack Eddie Howe" ( he's the Manager ). I think Eddie is a good Manager  - the team are just going through a bad patch and fingers crossed they will come good again in the new year - hopefully some new players will come in when the transfer window opens on January 1st.

I popped into Tesco for a couple of things before getting the bus home.

Had my meal and tried to watch TV but I've kept falling asleep all evening. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
