Geranium
Home, work, home, domestics. Very little time yet again.....
Did manage to submit an entry into a Dept wide photographic competition, the theme being 'On the Water'. With the help of my good friend I chose & edited a shot, taken on my birthday, of a barge on the Rushall Canal in Walsall. The guy in the boat is fishing, though this had to be pointed out to me & his dog is on the tow path gazing straight into my lens! The closing date was today. I'll let you know how I get on!
Also been experimenting a little with Silver Effects Pro since the weekend. Lovely tool it is too. Pretty cool results so far if you're into this kinda thing ~ monochrome & colour. I've managed to produce a stunning shot (if I say so myself) of 'The Shed' which looks like a massive red upside down wooden table which stands very conspicuously in front of the National Theatre on the South Bank in London. It is in fact a temporary stage. Against a backdrop of the NT which I filtered with monochrome are 3 of the 4 upright 'legs' of The Shed in blood red.... Looks a bit like an upside down plug! .... Best shot I think I've ever taken!
Anyhow, todays blip is of a simple but beautiful Geranium Sanguineum from my garden shot using the Canon 350D & 50mm lens. Makes a change from iPhone snaps!!!
Need to be in work by 7 am tomorrow so best try & finish the washing, grab a bite to eat, sort out my paperwork & watch some mindless tv in bed!
Have a peaceful evening......
