"Are you a pikey?"

After reading the guide-blurb and getting tickets I completely forgot what Fish Tank was about and a crap connection meant I couldn't quickly check just before it started. I'd also forgotten it was by Red Road writer/director Andrea Arnold until she was dragged up with a few of the cast just before it started, namechecking Kate Dickie who was also in the audience. Riveting, though unpleasant to watch both due to the situations within painful to listen to due to the accents of all the actors except Michael Fassbender. The lead girl was apparently plucked from a train station platform for the role but carries it off very well. The photography's not quite as good in most places as Red Road but it's definitely worth watching when it comes round on proper release.
