#2
Finally, we’re down to the last two films on the Top 25 Holiday Movies of all time, at least per the AV Club. I think if we all listed our top favorites we would share many but differ on many too. Either way, I hope you’ve enjoyed following along this month • #2 is A Christmas Carol, 1951. A British Christmas fantasy drama adapted from Charles Dickens’s 1843 novella; it was released as Scrooge in the UK, and renamed for the US; starring Alastair Sim, Kathleen Harrison, Hermoine Baddeley, Mervyn Johnson; produced and directed by Brian Desmond Hurst; screenplay by Noel Langley • For me there is only one Scrooge, and that’s Alastair Sim! He’s brilliant! • It’s a Christmas tradition for this framed photo of my big brother and me at Santa’s Land in the early 1960s to be unpacked and displayed. He was seven years older than me and influenced my life greatly. Sadly he passed unexpectedly at 41 of a heart issue. It seems so long ago now but I think of him and hold many happy memories in my heart • Merry Christmas Eve from our house to yours!
