It's the most wonderful night of the year...
Christmas Eve. My favourite :D
A leisurely start to the day then popped along to the Cairn for festive Sunday lunch.
Always a warm welcome and we've been so often we know all the staff, which is lovely as they all chat happily and it's very relaxed and friendly. When the waiter offered to take our photo I told him I would put it on FB with the caption "relaxing at home on Christmas Eve" and he said I could also credit the Butler for taking the photo. That made me laugh out loud. Someone must have told him David is the Butler! Hahaha...just made myself laugh again! :-)
Once home D took Lola a walk around the golf course and I did some prep for tomorrow's dinner. The fillet of beef is now seasoned, brushed with Dijon mustard and wrapped in prosciutto, and the carrots are peeled and chopped. I will do the parsnips and the dauphinoise potatoes in the morning. Christine is bringing dessert.
And now, since I don't have to cook dinner tonight (I think Christmas Eve lunch at the Cairn will become a new tradition. Great not having to cook on Christmas Eve :-) it's time for feet up, a festive G&T, some nibbles and some Christmas tv.
As I've mentioned on many Christmas Eve blips, it's usually a fight over Love Actually or Die Hard but as we've seen both in recent weeks we are going with White Christmas, which neither of us has seen. I hope it's better than Meet me in St Louis which I lasted all of ten minutes watching the other day! :-)
And so all that's left is to wish all you lovely Blippers a very Merry Christmas. I hope you all have the best day possible, that you have warmth, some tempting treats, and the most important thing, love. And I know you will because I am sending my love to each and every one of you.
And for those of you on the naughty list....if you are REALLY GOOD at being naughty, I think that puts you in the clear :-)))
And finally I would like to share the jokes in our lunch time crackers. Why should we be the only ones to suffer? :-))
What do you call an elf that runs away from Santa's workshop? A rebel without a Claus!
What happens if you eat Christmas decorations? You get tinsel-it is.
Boom-tish! You're welcome :-))) xxx
