Lights on War Graves.
In the first 3 pictures the grave we adopted, and 1 overview photo. It was raining very hard, so I didn’t take many photos.
The Overloon War Chronicles Foundation cordially invited us to share this beautiful and special moment with each other, to reflect together on the ultimate sacrifice the soldiers made for us.
Winter is the darkest time of the year, a time to enjoy being together with family and friends. A time when we share many fine and warm thoughts with our loved ones.
In these days, all those who gave their lives for our freedom also deserve to be remembered. So do the fallen soldiers during World War II, the boys who were given their final resting place so far from home.
To give these boys the memory they deserve, the Overloon War Chronicles Foundation puts and lights a candle at all graves on Christmas Eve for the 6th consecutive year. In addition, all of the soldiers' photos known so far will be on display at the graves.
On Christmas Eve we will light the candles just before nightfall...
It was impressive, especially when the Last Post was played…
