Saturday: Country Barn

We had a bit of a cream emergency today.  We need some for Christmas Day and fresh dairy is in really short supply here (as is white sugar, but that’s another story).

Anyway, we rang the Mennonite-owned ‘Country Barn’ and luckily they had some.  It was then a 40-minute drive down the Hummingbird Highway to pick up the cream but at least we now have some.   The Mennonites are the major dairy producers so can usually be relied on to have what we need in that department.  We also got some fresh milk which was a bonus.
