Legions of Lichen

This photo shows a fraction of the lichen-laden branches that were brought  down to eye-level by storm Pia. Nick has now cut up the trunk so that he could clear a way for us to access the path that became blocked by the fallen tree. 
It was a busy day with some Christmas preparations and doing finishing touches for our Christmas Eve service in the village church.
Tonight we met with six friends at the Bellachroy Inn for a meal to celebrate the birthday of one of our number. Not only was the food delicious but the atmosphere in the small dining room was very happy and friendly, not least because of our very cheery waitress. A very good prelude to Christmas.
