A day to wrap up well!

This morning the storm that got going yesterday was still going. The trees were waving around and huge flurries of snow came blowing past the house. It took even longer than usual for the dawn to ease into daylight and there was no sun to be seen. With weather like this candles can be appreciated all day, casting a warm glow.
We are on the northern edge of the storm and had a relatively easy time of it. The more populated areas of Sweden in the south have not been so lucky, which is unfortunate when so many are travelling for Christmas just now.
We moved from bed to sofa and watched the Lucia celebration, which was filmed in the south of Sweden this year, in the spectacular Kalmar castle. Because our friend Shelling lives on Öland, just across the water from Kalmar, we have visited it a few times. I thought I would do another interior photo showing the room with the TV + Lucia, but Jan beat me to it!
After this rather lazy but lovely start to the day we got going and eventually went out for a breather, a short walk in the storm. We were both wrapped up well and warmly but even so the wind knifed into any bare flesh showing. It was only -6°C but the windchill was savage! Having to take the gloves off to take a smartphone photo is not good on a day like this!
However, you do get very healthy looking red cheeks, excellent for portraits!
We cut our walk short and did a few small outdoor tasks around the house and parking space before retreating back indoors to enjoy a cosy evening of good food, reading, and Blipfoto!
I'm very thankful to live in a part of the world where wishing someone a peaceful Christmas is usually just something one says, rather than a real and fervent wish!
Our blip friend Max has just blipped from his home in Ukraine, despite everything looking forward to Christmas like most of us. I'll add a link to his "Buy me a coffee" site if you fancy spreading a little extra cheer.
Travel carefully and have a merry and peaceful Christmas!
