The goats

I was bound to bump in to them sooner or later and today was the day walking back from the mountains! This gentle creature is known as the "cabra malagueña" or Malaga goat, native to Andalucia. They roam the mountains all around our area with their goatherds. A gentle youngster in the extra. 

I wonder why goats do not appear at our traditional Nativity scenes? I am sure there would have been plenty of them in the stables in Bethlehem!  Here we have no ox, nor ass at the manger, but definitely goats!
