Tradition

There's always a special prize cryptic crossword in the Guardian around this time.  It's never simple but it is a lovely distraction from the madness outside.

Shopping this afternoon for the last bits and pieces and people are going bonkers.  The shops are shut for 3 days after today which is akin (apparently) to the end of the world.  Couples shopping with 2 trolleys...

Nuts.

We have food - the menu was planned.  Just needed bread and a couple of sweet treats.  Done.

Oh and in a bit of a linguistic excursion -  the plant rampion bellflower (used for its leaves and roots) also has the name Rapunzel which the Brothers Grimm used for the title of the fairy tale.  That'll be worth a point in a pub quiz.
