Robin
Up with the lark (not the robin) this morning as the dishwasher repair engineer was due any time between 07:33 and 10:33. He arrived just after 10 to sort out a groaning sound of zombie proportions.
A new pump later all seems to be working better.
The day, which had been intended for e-cards and present wrapping turned into a day of shopping and queues. A friend and neighbour recovering from a cancer op needed a prescription collected and processed before the Christmas shut down. The wait at Boots was over an hour so I went shopping. The pre-Christmas frenzy was in full flow. So much so that they were handing out sweets to people in the very lengthy but reasonably moving queue. (I missed out on the chocolates!)
Then to get acclick and collect. Before I knew it, it was dinner time.
A glass raised to our father who passed away 31 years ago today. I am fast approaching the age at which he died which feels a bit unreal. Much missed, though by now he would have been 99.
After a bit of TV we assembled a fire guard as, given the failure of our gas central heating boiler, we now have more electric radiators around. With our grandson due next week, assuming recovery from chickenpox, we want to make sure he can’t access the heaters.
As a demonstration of online shopping it was impressive. Just around midnight on Wednesday night we looked online for fire guards. After 3 or so minutes we identified what we wanted
( on sale at half price) and had paid for it. The click and collect this afternoon was the fire guard.
PS In recent days I have been unable to share to Facebook from the Blipfoto site but seem to manage via Instagram, in case those of you following on Facebook wonder why the Blipfoto link has gone.
